Adore Ministries envisions lives, and indeed churches, renewed through people worshiping God with their whole lives through knowing, loving, and serving God in the ordinary and extraordinary.

Grassroots:

Based on attraction rather than promotion. Every aspect of our ministry will be Holy Spirit led… discerned in the Holy Spirit and relying on His inspiration to sustain it. Our ministry and ideas will spread primarily by word of mouth with those impacted sharing their experience with others.

Life as Worship:

Adore Ministries believes authentic worship, to “worship in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23), must not be confined to the walls of our church or the formats of our human gatherings. If we are to become “Fully Alive”, as we are created to be, adoration must become infused into each and every moment. We must learn to “remain in [Him]” (John 15:4) in order to connect the sacramental worship on Sunday with our every day. Adoring God must become, not an activity, but rather the disposition of our soul, our way of being, that inspires, accompanies, and concludes our every task, conversation, and reflection throughout the day. To live this way is not easy. It requires practice, discipline, failure and victory, and the accompaniment of others seeking the same.

The glory of God is the human person fully alive.

To adore God is to acknowledge, in respect and absolute submission, the "nothingness of the creature" who would not exist but for God. To adore God is to praise and exalt him and to humble oneself, as Mary did in the Magnificat, Are we focused too much on putting on the event and neglecting to stop and be present to those who attend?confessing with gratitude that he has done great things and holy is his name. The worship of the one God sets man free from turning in on himself, from the slavery of sin and the idolatry of the world.

Ordinary & Extraordinary:

God stands ready to meet us as much in the side conversation or washing the dishes as He does in the conference or retreat. We need both, and He desires both for us. He longs for us to dedicate time to come to the mountain top with Him during a conference and Sunday Mass, or to carry us through the loss of a loved one. He also longs to accompany and sustain us through the mundane. The morning routine, daily drive to work, ordering our task priorities, changing diapers, folding clothes, shuttling kids around, the tough conversation with our spouse, and disciplining kids. Part of the goal and work of the spiritual life is orientating both our ordinary and our extraordinary toward Christ… letting Him accompany us and relying on Him in both.

Know, Love, Serve:

God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church. To accomplish this, when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son as Redeemer and Savior. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life. So that this call should resound throughout the world, Christ sent forth the apostles he had chosen, commissioning them to proclaim the gospel... Those who with God's help have welcomed Christ's call and freely responded to it are urged on by love of Christ to proclaim the Good News everywhere in the world... All Christ's faithful are called to hand it on from generation to generation, by professing the faith, by living it in fraternal sharing, and by celebrating it in liturgy and prayer.

Know

All relationships begin with knowing & being known. Even the attraction to the person from across the room, before we ever meet them, who would later become our spouse, begins with a ‘knowing’ of their beauty... and the vulnerability to risk ‘being known’ when we muster the courage to introduce ourselves. Our relationship with God is no different.

Adore Ministries believes knowing God is life-long process of unending depth. It involves passionate and ordinary encounters with God in the sacraments and with Him present in our brothers and sisters. Just as in marriage we must become ‘students of our spouse’, so too must we dive into study of Him whom we are to love through a discipline of prayer and study, listening to sermons, and, yes, sharing vulnerably with the Body of Christ in community.

Love

Love is a choice. A choice made each day and in every moment to put the other first, forgive, ask forgiveness, assume the other’s best intentions, ask the hard questions, risk sharing our vulnerable weaknesses, ask for help, etc. Ultimately, to accompany each other in the ordinary and extraordinary that we meet each day.

Adore Ministries believes loving God and being loved by Him is this same accompaniment in the everyday. The choice to allow Him to accompany us, knowing that we need Him, and to recognize that He desires our company despite not needing it. This looks a lot like taking time we don’t think we have to encourage a community member, or have the hard conversation with our spouse. To offer a hug a Family Dinner for those who walk in the door.

Serve

When we fall in love, our natural desire is to serve our beloved, and to tell everyone of our joy and of them. The more freely we give of ourselves determines the depth possible in any relationship.

Adore Ministries believes it is the same in our relationship with God. God is constantly active in pouring Himself out for us, but it is only to the extent that we give freely of ourselves to Him that we are able to dive deeper into receiving His love. We give of ourselves to Him by offering our time in prayer and receiving the sacraments, giving God the primary say in a decision, etc. Often, in our ordinary lives though, serving God looks a lot like serving those in our ten foot radius. A co-worker or child who needs an ear to listen, someone's dish that need to be washed, taking the time to teach instead of tell, etc.

Know, Love, Serve Applied

The Holy Spirit has called Adore Ministries to help each other Know, Love, and Serve God in the ordinary and extraordinary. We seek to incorporate these three endeavors in each of our three ministries: Moment, Movement, and Mission. We also use the know, love, and serve as an ongoing barometer to test each of our ministry’s fruitfulness and adherence to our primary mission.

MOMENT	KNOW Adore Ministries’ MOMENTs are primarily centered on ‘knowing’ God. To create opportunities to encounter Him in His beauty, learn about Him, and let ourselves be known by Him. Do our teachings and messages help reveal the deep truths of this life and our faith? Are we encouraging study beyond the event to dive deeper into knowledge of our God?	LOVE Are we endeavoring to live the Life of Joy each day and calling others to do the same? Are we accompanying our fellow workers or just directing or being directed? Are we leading with weakness or leading with our own righteousness?	SERVE Are we first serving our volunteers, so as to model the servant first leadership and mentality? Are we taking the time to serve the attendees so that all their needs are met and they can be attune to what God is doing in their lives. Are we serving the staff of the facility that is hosting us... treating them as fellow missionaries regardless of their attitude or involvement?
MOVEMENT	KNOW Are we endeavoring to live the Life of Joy each day and calling others to do the same? Are we being disciplined in study and prayer? Are we holding each other accountable to this discipline? Are we acknowledging God’s hand in our lives as we ‘catch up’ with other during Family Dinner nights?	LOVE Adore Ministries’ MOVEMENTs are primarily centered on ‘loving’ God. By endeavoring to live the “Life of Joy”, and sharing life weekly with a Family Dinner community, we care for ourselves, so that we can care for those we are called to accompany, while letting ourselves be accompanied and cared for. Are we intentionally risking deeper questions or just ‘catching up’ during Family Dinner nights? Are we following up with community members after they share a weakness?	SERVE Are we helping clean up during the Family Dinner night? Are we signing up to serve when families need help? (meals, moving, babysitting, ending things, etc.) Are we helping coordinate connections outside of the Family Dinner gathering? (mens/womens groups/socials/sports, playdates, camping trips, etc.)
MISSION	KNOW Are we creating intentional programs for people at various stages of faith to learn more about God? Am I studying and learning more about God? Are we creating opportunities to encounter God and worship Him?	LOVE Am I turning to God in a daily routine of prayer? Am I allowing Him into my every moment? Are we accompanying each other in the ordinary or only in our scheduled meetings and events? Are we accompanying those we serve in the ordinary or only in scheduled appointments and events?	SERVE Adore Ministries’ MISSIONs are primarily centered on ‘serving’ God. Our missionaries are present every day at the parish serving the communities. Are we always looking for where the need is in our community, and are we seeking to be the first to step in and serve those needs? Are we approaching the necessary administrative work of planning and communicating with an attitude of service?
